Real Madrid in £40m Suarez hunt

 

LIVERPOOL are determined to fight off a £40million bid for Luis Suarez from Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have contacted the striker’s agent Pere Guardiola, brother of new Bayern Munich boss Pep.
Suarez tops Real’s shortlist of strikers because he is cheaper than Napoli star Edinson Cavani, who has a £52m get-out clause.

But a senior Liverpool source said: “We will not sell Luis Suarez.
“Brendan Rodgers has said this on several occasions and the club will not entertain any bids be it Real Madrid or anyone else.

Luis is one of the world’s best players and is not for sale.” Despite that, Suarez, 26, could be tempted by the lure of Champions League football.
Real will table a bid once new manager Carlo Ancelotti severs his links with current club Paris Saint-Germain and takes charge at the Bernabeu.
